I was so excited to see battera, or pressed sushi on the menu, as well as kamameshi. These are two things that my grandma made or bought for us quite often.
The Saba battera tasted incredible; it reminded me of the ones that I had in Tokyo. The saba was well salted, along with the kombu.
The kamameshi was seasoned well and is definitely my favorite dish by far.

This is one of my regular lunch spots. They are one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants around which is what attracts the Japanese patrons from the near by retirement home.
If you go for Friday lunch, reservation is recommended. Some of the dishes may take longer to prepare, be sure to stay away if you are tight on time.
My favourite dish is the Salmon and Tuna Carpaccio.
